I approached Davin Lengyl a few months before season 2 went to camera to say that I liked certain things about the show but that the VFX in season 1 were "stinky". It wasn't a very charming way to introduce myself but Davin was open minded enough to reply that if I thought I could do better I should take a shot at a few scenes in season 2. It was the beginning of a long friendship and led to a bunch of other projects that certainly took my career in a different and interesting direction.

For the record the effects in season 2 were a least slightly less stinky.
